Trapped fluid analysis by Rock-crusher
In collaboration with MultiPhase Analytics (MPA), we offer the analysis of trapped gas and volatiles contents of core and cuttings samples
Crusher Gas Analysis (Trapped Fluid Analysis)
Unlock the full potential of your rock samples with Isolab’s Crusher Gas Analysis, developed in collaboration with our technical partners at Multiphase Analytics.
This advanced trapped gas analysis service provides high-precision compositional and isotopic characterization of hydrocarbons and volatile compounds directly from cuttings, core, or sidewall core (SWC) samples — without any special preservation requirements.
Our state-of-the-art mechanical crusher system releases and analyzes gases trapped within the rock matrix, allowing the reconstruction of original reservoir fluid compositions even from legacy well materials collected decades ago.

Comprehensive Hydrocarbon and Isotope Analysis
Isolab’s Crusher Gas Analysis delivers detailed geochemical and isotopic data across the full volatile range:
- Hydrocarbon Gas Composition (C₁–C₅): Quantitative analysis of methane to pentane, plus non-hydrocarbon gases (CO₂, H₂S).
- Carbon Isotopes (δ¹³C) of C₁–C₅ Hydrocarbons: Precise isotopic signatures to assess fluid source, maturity, and migration.
- Hydrogen Isotopes (δD) of Methane: Additional insights into gas generation processes and fluid evolution.
- Gasoline-Range Hydrocarbon Composition (C₇GC): Molecular fingerprinting of volatile hydrocarbons for enhanced petroleum system calibration.
